AnyToWebP — Privacy Policy

Who we are

AnyToWebP is a Shopify app that compresses product images to WebP format. It is operated by dev2host ("we", "us"). Contact: talati4bigcommerce@gmail.com.

What data we collect

When you install the app we store:

• Your store domain and an API access token, required to read and update your product images (OAuth scopes: read_products, write_products).
• Metadata about each image conversion: product IDs, image URLs, alt text, image positions, and file sizes. This is the backup that powers the 1-click revert feature.
• Your app settings (default quality, skip rules).

We never collect or store customer personal data. The app does not read orders, customers, or any personally identifiable information about your buyers. Image files themselves are processed in memory during conversion and are not retained on our servers.

How we use data

Exclusively to provide the app's functionality: converting your product images, showing conversion history and statistics, and restoring original images when you request a revert. We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising or analytics beyond the app itself.

Data retention and deletion

• Uninstalling the app revokes its access token immediately.
• All stored data for your shop (settings, conversion history, image backups) is permanently deleted when Shopify sends the shop/redact webhook, which occurs 48 hours after uninstall, in accordance with Shopify's privacy requirements.
• You can also request earlier deletion by emailing us.

GDPR / compliance webhooks

The app implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, shop/redact). Because we store no customer data, customer data requests and redactions are no-ops; shop redaction deletes all shop data as described above.

Security

All traffic is encrypted via HTTPS. API access tokens are stored server-side and are never exposed to browsers or third parties.
